Unity for a Better Community (U4ABC)

21st Century Education   Information Implementation

Propelling people and communities into the Information Age

 Community Power

Brand New Initiative!

Unity for a Better Community recently facililitated the purchase of a building in the Wellston community of St. Louis that will serve as a site for business development by local residents.  U4abc awarded scholarships to a number of its membership to attend a NxLevel Entrepreneurship class that just began (April 2006).  This class is intended to enhance training received at u4abc's Success-Networking Seminars™, and better prepare them for its LifeBuild Series™ seminar.  The LifeBuild Series™ ensures that the new entrepreneurs have the mindset and skills critical to their personal success, as well as the success of the community.

Pictured immediately below are u4abc principals Dr. Higginbotham and Ms. Rhone with one of its investors and the General Contractor who will develop the project.

Unity for a Better Community works to support entrepreneurial endeavors. We combine learning and business-building, leadership skills-building and  personal responsibility.

One of our current projects is working with the Wellston Loop Community Development Corporation to establish an Internet Cafe where people can meet, chat, and have access to the World Wide Web.

Washington University (in St. Louis) is also involved in the project. It's School of Architecture developed a model of the Wellston Loop District that will be used as a resource during the  strategic re-development of the community.  The model is on display at the future Internet Cafe site, and is available for observation and comment by members of the community.

U4abc is also supporting the Wellston School District's "We're on the Move" program by offering leadership and other strategic training to members of the community.  We are in the process of establishing alliance partners to raise funds to support this effort.
